Fear and Faithfulness
These are days when we need a holy reverence and fear of the Lord above all else. If we don’t, we will be easily swayed by the opinions of others and influenced by the culture around us.The Bible says that “Fear of man will prove to be a snare...” (Prov 29:25).How often do we remain silent for fear of what others will think? Or water down what we believe to be true?
The Lord is looking for a people who will be fearlessly faithful to His Word while also showing loving humility towards others. Jesus was full of grace and truth and so must we be also. Too often today we sacrifice truth on the altar of grace. We are full of compassion which is good, but we lack Biblical convictions and so become ‘nice’ people rather than salt and light who impact our culture. God is Holy. His Word is Truth. The time is short. May we be a people who care more about pleasing God than pleasing others; who are willing to be unpopular for righteousness sake. Who love unconditionally but live uncompromisingly.

Proverbs 29:25
“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.”
—
Galatians 1:10
“Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

Deuteronomy 10:12-13
“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?”

Matthew 5:13-16
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
