Nothing is Wasted

God is always preparing us for the next place, position or promotion He is leading us towards.  Often He does this without us even realizing it.  Moses spent 40 years as a shepherd in the wilderness, looking after a herd of stubborn sheep who wandered off and did their own thing. God then called him to free the Hebrews from Egypt and what does Moses do for the next 40 years - lead a bunch of stubborn people through the desert who are constantly wandering off and doing their own thing.

Nothing is wasted with God. He takes everything in our lives, the good, the difficult, the mundane, the seemingly unimportant and insignificant - and through it all he prepares, equips and trains us for the next assignment He has for us.

Where you are today might not be where you want to be - but ask yourself - what is God teaching me in this place, at this time, that is preparing me for the calling and destiny which lies ahead.  Lean in and learn.  It will help bring you into alignment for your next assignment.

Exodus 3:1-4

“Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight---why the bush does not burn up.” When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am .”
